Since I started shooting boudoir back in 2002, I’ve photographed women with all kinds of bodies and all kinds of journeys.

Boob jobs.
Tummy tucks.
Weight-loss surgery.
Mummy makeovers.
And the scars that can come with them.

And here’s what I want you to know:

You are not your scars.

If you’re conscious about them, there are so many ways I can work with lighting, shadows, posing and styling to soften their appearance or simply choose angles where they don’t feature at all.

But more importantly, I want you to feel seen, celebrated and beautiful exactly as you are. ❤️

Your body has a story. Your scars may be part of that story but they are not the whole story.

Brides have been bringing in these garter belt stocking attachments to wear for their bridal boudoir shoots. They’re so cool because you don’t have to be wearing a matching lingerie set on.

Put two hands into the toe of your stocking, and then pull the stocking up with the inside of your palms. Don’t make contact with your nails on those stockings; otherwise, you’ll snag them.

When you want to attach the stockings, if you’re here in the studio with me, I will help you to get those stocking attachments on because they can be quite tricky, especially if you’re wearing hold-ups.

These are hold-ups, so there’s rubber at the top of the stocking, which means that when you’re trying to push the inside of the stocking cloth down into the metal bit, which is basically what fastens it, it can just be a little bit tricky.

A bridal boudoir shoot is a lovely way to celebrate yourself, your body and this exciting time in your life. It doesn’t matter what size or shape you are. You don’t need to look like a model, lose weight or wait until you feel “perfect”. You are enough exactly as you are.

At FYEO, your boudoir shoot is relaxed, private and all about making you feel comfortable. You’ll be guided through the poses, so there’s no standing in front of the camera wondering what to do with your hands or how to position yourself!

Bring your favourite lingerie, your wedding veil, a pair of beautiful shoes or even something borrowed from your wedding day. Your session can be as glamorous, playful, romantic or simple as you want it to be.

And yes, bridal boudoir makes a gorgeous wedding gift for your new husband or wife. But honestly, it doesn’t have to be about them. These photos can be something you keep for yourself too. A reminder of how you felt during this exciting chapter of your life.

She also brought her partner’s jacket and a really cute pair of knickers with her new name on.

That’s a really fun thing to bring to your boudoir photoshoot.

“Is your bridal boudoir studio really private?”
Completely. It’s just you and me, and I’ll guide you through every step.

“What if I’m really shy?”
That’s okay. You don’t need to know how to pose or feel confident in front of the camera. I’ll direct you throughout your entire shoot.

“What should I wear?”
Bring your wedding lingerie, heels and jewellery — and why not bring something belonging to your partner too? A favourite shirt, tie or something sporty can make your images even more personal.

And if you’d love a beautiful bridal veil, I have cathedral-length lace-trim and ribbon-trim veils at the studio for you to borrow.

“Will my photographs be shared online?”
Only if you genuinely want me to. My business has always been built around a “for your eyes only” experience and the confidentiality I promise my clients.

“When will I see my photographs?”
Within a week. We’ll have a Zoom reveal together, where I’ll share your images and help you choose your favourites from a collection of around 30.

“How far before my wedding should I book?”
If you’re planning to gift your portraits to your partner on the morning of your wedding, I recommend having your shoot no later than around two months before your wedding day.

Today’s bride brought her partner’s shirt and tie to accessorise her bridal boudoir shoot!

So what we did was… tied the shirt at her hip and put the tie around her neck, so she had a little bit of tie over each boob.

Then I directed her into these amazing shapes and poses.

And actually, Beyoncé, my partner in crime, got involved too. She’s one of my secret formulas for creating the shots I get in the studio.

When I’m taking the pictures of you, I’ll be moving Beyoncé so she hits just the right part of you to create movement- either in your hair or clothing.
