Something a little different in the FYEO Portraits studio today!
I finally got to play with my new @profoto lighting setup and I’m obsessed. Had to test out the camera trigger and rapid-flash system, so I called in my partner-in-glam and world’s best makeup artist @sheridanmakeupartist — plus her gorgeous daughter @siaanstonee — to help me put it through its paces.
And WOW. 🎬📸✨
We had so much fun experimenting!
I’m loving my new fabric & styling ideas! #ukboudoir
What d’you think?

I pour so much of myself into creating these beautiful, artistic, studio images. Photography is such a massive part of who I am, creativity is the thing that lights me up, grounds me, and lets me express a whole world of emotion and artistry. Every session I shoot gives me a buzz, every final image feels like a tiny piece of magic. ✨
But here’s the catch…
Because so many of my portraits are intimate or nude, and because they’re deeply personal to the women who trust me to create them, I can’t actually share most of what I do. And while I absolutely respect that privacy—it’s essential—it means a huge part of my creative world stays behind the scenes.
Honestly?
It can be a little frustrating knowing these powerful images exist but can’t be shared or celebrated publicly.
☝️So, I’ve come up with something that helps bring a bit of my creativity into the light, and it might be something you want to be part of.
Every now and again, I offer what I call a Media Shoot.
It’s a full portrait session just like my regular shoots, but with one key difference: you agree to let me share a selection of your images for my portfolio, website, or social media. And because that helps me show my work publicly, I offer these shoots at a significantly reduced rate.👍🏻
I’ll be running my next round of Media Shoots in February 2026, and I’m beginning to gather names now. If you’ve been thinking about booking a shoot, or if you love the idea of being part of something creative, expressive, and empowering—and you’re comfortable with me sharing selected images of you, then I would love to hear from you! ⭐️
➡️ Send me a DM, drop me a message, or reach out through the website: fyeoportraits.com
And if you’d like to chat about it first, my number is right there on the site. Let’s create something unforgettable together.

✨ Drop a 💖 if you’re ready to step into your own magic! Gather round — let’s have a heart-to-heart about self-love.

✨ Drop a 💖 if you’re ready to step into your own magic!
Gather round — let’s have a heart-to-heart about self-love. Not the fluffy, throwaway kind people stick on a mug… I mean the real stuff.
The kind that changes how you walk through the world. The kind that makes you MAGNETIC without even trying.
Here’s the truth: the moment you start treating yourself like someone worth showing up for, everything shifts.
And I see it all the time in the studio — women step in feeling a bit unsure, a bit “I’ll just blend into the background,” and then something clicks.
A spark.
A reclaiming.
And suddenly she’s standing taller, laughing louder, looking like she’s been lit from within. That is the power of self-love.
Because when you back yourself, truly, deeply, unapologetically, you become the woman who walks into a room and doesn’t need to prove a thing.
Not a damn thing.
Your energy does it for you. And that kind of quiet confidence? Absolutely magnetic.
Here’s what self-love really gives you:
1. A new lens — You stop picking yourself apart and start asking better questions. Not “What’s wrong with me?” but “What makes me feel alive?” When you shift the focus, your whole world softens.
2. A new story — All those little “I’m not enough” whispers start losing their grip. You begin telling the truth instead: “I’m worthy as I am.” And once you start believing that, there’s no going back.
3. A new glow — Self-love isn’t just internal. It shows. It’s in your posture, your eyes, the way you move. It’s not arrogance — it’s ownership. A quiet, elegant yes to yourself.
So tonight, do something simple: look in the mirror and name one thing you appreciate about your body. Maybe it’s carried you through hell and back. Maybe it’s soft where you once wished it wasn’t. Maybe it’s strong in ways you forget to acknowledge. Whatever it is — give it a moment.
Because loving yourself isn’t silly or selfish. It’s grounding. It’s transformative. It’s one of the most powerful things you can do.
You don’t need permission. You don’t need a perfect day. You just need to DECIDE NOW: I’m choosing me.

🦋The Body Paint Photoshoot! Two of my greatest passions, painting and photography, collide to create one of the most expressive and liberating photoshoot experiences! There’s something almost meditative about the shift in energy as we see ourselves as unique works of art rather than something to critique.

🦋The Body Paint Photoshoot! Two of my greatest passions, painting and photography, collide to create one of the most expressive and liberating photoshoot experiences!
There’s something almost meditative about the shift in energy as we see ourselves as unique works of art rather than something to critique.
Body paint has a way of changing everything. It’s bold, fun, and unexpectedly empowering.🚀
Our bodies really are works of art.
Unique, feminine, individual, shaped by every moment of our lives.
And yet so often our instinct is to criticise, to judge, to compare.
What if we changed that narrative?
What if we chose to celebrate our bodies instead of apologising for them?
Learning to see ourselves through a different lens can be life-changing.
Being less harsh and more understanding with our bodies doesn’t just affect how we look at photos, it influences how we show up in every area of our lives…
Our confidence, our sense of identity, the way we connect in our relationships, even the way we walk into a room.
When we start recognising the beauty in the light, the movement, the lines, and the changes, we soften.
We forgive.
We appreciate.
We show compassion toward the body that carries us through everything.
I still remember how body paint felt on my skin – and in my mind. The pictures from my body paint shoot gave me permission to feel beautiful in a way that wasn’t about perfection but about expression. It reminded me that my body holds stories, seeing it as a work of art helps me honour it.
If you’d love to experience this for yourself, you can add a body paint session to your boudoir shoot through the ‘fyeo portraits’ website. It’s an opportunity to see yourself in a completely new way, and many clients tell me it’s one of their favourite shoots.
Would you try a body paint photoshoot? I’m always curious to hear your thoughts.

Ready for a little tough love with a whole lot of compassion? 😘 Because this time…it’s about your body.

Ready for a little tough love with a whole lot of compassion? 😘
Because this time…it’s about your body. Your connection to it. Your willingness to see it.
It’s not your metabolism.
It’s not your genetics.
It’s not “just how it is now.”
It’s you, babe 💋it’s how you SEE it.
And I say that with love.
You’re ignoring your body’s signals.
You’re numbing instead of checking in.
You’re judging every inch instead of appreciating the miracle you live in.
You’re waiting to “feel motivated”…
but you haven’t taken a loving action toward yourself in weeks.
And let’s be honest…
you don’t have a body problem.
You have a relationship problem.
You want deep self-love,
but you’re showing up with “when it’s convenient” energy.
You want confidence,
but you’re feeding yourself comparison and criticism.
You want connection,
but you keep ghosting the one relationship you can’t escape: your own body.
And yes—
we ALL have body challenges.
A limb that moves differently.
Energy that rises and crashes.
Illness, pain, hormonal shifts, scars, stories.
I get it. Truly.
But we do what we can. Don’t we?
We ask ourselves,
“Am I doing the best I can today?”
That’s where everything begins.
And here’s what most people miss:
A boudoir photoshoot—yes, portraits of YOUR body—can be the spark that changes everything. Actually, making the decision to do one, is where your mind starts to shift.
I’ve witnessed it again and again in the studio.
When you see yourself through a lens of love instead of shame…
something shifts.
Compassionately connecting.
The camera shows you a version of yourself your mind has forgotten:
powerful, tender, real, beautiful.
Sometimes being photographed is the first moment you finally see yourself clearly.
This is why portraits work.
They reconnect you to yourself.
They soften the war in your head.
They remind you of who you are beneath the criticism.
Your next level of confidence and peace isn’t hiding.
It’s waiting for you to treat your body like you deserve to feel good in it 🔥

📸 Here’s Lauren posing on my boudoir platform! ➡️ I’ve been working with my boudoir platform—also known as my ‘body sculpting platform’ —since I first started doing boudoir all the way back in 2002.

📸 Here’s Lauren posing on my boudoir platform! ➡️ I’ve been working with my boudoir platform—also known as my ‘body sculpting platform’ —since I first started doing boudoir all the way back in 2002. 🚀
It’s been with me through every era of my photography, helping me shape, sculpt, and celebrate the female form.
The boudoir platform is purpose-built. It’s just the right height off the floor, allowing me to capture the perfect flattering angles that define my boudoir style.
Here, you can see the stunning Lauren posing on it.
What makes this platform so special?
💫 The Size – Spacious enough that clients never feel “too big,” only beautifully held and supported.
💫 The Firmness – No sinking or soft spots like you would on furniture/a bed or sofa. The firm surface helps me shoot clean lines, lifted, sculpted body shapes, and it works so well.
💫 The Elevation – It keeps my clients off the floor, maintains their dignity, and helps them feel elevated—physically and emotionally. I never ask my clients to lay on the floor!!
This shoot with Lauren was so much fun. She came in to help me celebrate my 20th anniversary as a boudoir photographer here in my studio near Marlow in the UK. Lauren has been in to see me a few times now, and every time we create such beautiful pictures, and have a good natter.
For this session, Lauren brought the most gorgeous lace gown, and as you’ll see, we used it in all sorts of creative ways. 🤍
I’ve added a little behind-the-scenes video of the shoot in action, along with some of the finished photographs.
If you’d like to learn more about my boudoir sessions, you can explore everything on my website—including my downloadable Boudoir Look Book filled with prices, a shoot guide, portfolio, and more.
And of course… if you have any questions about booking—or just want to say hello—I’d love to hear from you.
With love,
Alexandra 💕#fyeoportrait #boudoir #marlow
3am.

3am. I lie completely still — gripping the covers, fists tight, tension in my neck and jaw, eyes wide open. Adrenaline rushes through me; I feel connected to every fizzing molecule.
I thought I’d already done the hard work of life — the heartbreaks. I figured I’d earned a rest from self-discovery. But here I am, at 52, learning more about myself in my coffin of anger.
Simon. I’m so cross with you.
My brother died last year, age 52, of alcoholism. The trauma is hard to bear.
My beloved nephew — Simon’s son — has lost his dad. 🥹 That child has a right to know his father’s people.
So here I am, awake at 3am, my mind spinning with angry grief.
I know I’m not alone. We all have those moments of 3am anxiety, right?
I’ve realised my deep emotions don’t like the light; they wake me up, tormenting me. My anger is like a coat — heavy and wet from a storm — I long to hang it up to dry.
Anger disguises itself as control, silence, self-criticism. I bury it, but it rises again — in my words, reactions, the strain on my body.
Listen. Learn.
So I listen. And in that quiet, resilient space.
If you’re awake at 3am, buzzing with anger or grief, don’t rush to silence it.
Listen. Let it move through you.
We can use that energy to grow stronger — not in muscle, but in mindset. When we stop running and really listen, there’s power there.
I’ve decided to use that power to
Love more fiercely.
Feel more connected to my body.
Growth doesn’t happen in the light. It happens in the lonely, uncomfortable dark at 3am — the place we become who we’re meant to be.
Let’s turn anger into energy for good.
Are you a 3-amer? How do you cope?

In 2023, I did something that scared the absolute life out of me — I self-published my own boudoir photography book.

In 2023, I did something that scared the absolute life out of me —
I self-published my own boudoir photography book.
To this day, it’s the work I’m most proud of.
But I’ve never really shared what it actually meant to make it happen — or how much it changed me.
At the time, I had zero confidence in my career. Everything felt uncertain.
After Covid — and a lot of personal change — my creative path had taken a complete handbrake turn.
I needed to pause, to reflect, to figure out where I’d come from and what my art had become.
That reflection turned into ‘The Queen of Boudoir’.
Launch day.
I opened the first box of books from the printer with shaking hands… and cried.
Happy tears. Grateful tears. Relief. Pride.
Because I knew exactly what it had cost me to get there.
Years, decades of work.
Months of 5 a.m. starts.
Thousands of photo edits.
Laying out the entire book myself — in design software I’d never touched before.
And then there was navigating Amazon’s publishing hurdles for a global eBook — a tedious, stressful nightmare that nearly broke me! 😅
But I was determined, because I had a dream.
Looking back now, I’m proud for taking that wild, terrifying leap of faith —
for believing so fiercely in something no one else could see yet.
‘THE QUEEN OF BOUDOIR’ changed everything for me.
It wasn’t just a creative project.
It gave me something far more powerful:
Confidence.
Confidence to stand on my own as an independent artist.
No publisher. No gallery. No middlemen.
Just me — connecting directly with my tribe.
If you’re an artist feeling disheartened right now, please hear me:
We are living in a time where you have the power.
You don’t need permission.
You can build your own audience, your own path, your own legacy.
Take risks on yourself.
They do pay off.
📣Friends, I only have 8 printed copies of The Queen of Boudoir left.
Once they’re gone — that’s it. No reprints.
If you’d like one of the final signed copies (UK only) 💌
👉 DM me now — first come, first served.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for supporting me & believing in my art.

✨ Today’s boudoir photoshoot was extra special — it was for the lovely Jo, who came in to celebrate her birthday (+1)! 🎉 Because Jo spends so much of her life outdoors, she wanted to bring that connection with nature into her shoot — and I absolutely loved that idea.

✨ Today’s boudoir photoshoot was extra special — it was for the lovely Jo, who came in to celebrate her birthday (+1)! 🎉
Because Jo spends so much of her life outdoors, she wanted to bring that connection with nature into her shoot — and I absolutely loved that idea. 🌿
She arrived with the most beautiful collection of tree branches, ferns, leaves, and berries, and together we transformed them into the perfect accessories for her portraits. I guided her through a series of poses, using the natural textures and shapes to frame her in the most artistic, feminine way. The result? A collection of intimate, creative portraits that feel wild, grounded, and completely unique to Jo.
We laughed, experimented, and made magic together — that’s what I love most about these sessions. Every shoot becomes a collaboration, a celebration, and a memory in itself. 💫
As always, I never share private client work, but if you’d like to see the style of images we create at FYEO, you can view my portfolio or download the free Boudoir Photoshoot Lookbook via the website (link in bio).
