I dreamed I was doing a photoshoot in a room with no space, no boudoir platform, no light! Luckily it was just a dream/nightmare, but it reminded me how much I love and rely on my boudoir posing platform and how essential it is for creating artistic boudoir portraits.

You can’t buy this anywhere, I designed and made it myself. When I first began shooting full-body portraits, I tried every surface imaginable. Anything soft made the body sink, and I wanted lifted, elegant shapes. So I built something that worked.

The platform is raised 50 cm off the ground so clients never lie on a studio floor. I’ve seen photographers ask clients to pose on the floor in their underwear, and I find it undignified. My studio is designed to make every client feel respected and comfortable.

The shiny top is intentional, it reflects my studio lighting beautifully, creating soft outlines and flattering sculptural effects. It’s simple, but the results are magical.

The platform’s size means it works for people of every height, shape, size and ability. No one is left feeling awkward; every pose can be supported and adapted.

🚀 Essential Boudoir Photographers Tool

For me, it’s an indispensable tool for my photoshoots. It’s made of three lightweight polystyrene blocks and a large shiny metal sheet, easy to move so I can shape light and find the perfect angle for every shot.

Whether I’m working with body paint, oil or body makeup, the platform provides a clean, smooth, easy-to-sanitize surface ideal for full-body posing.

I’m Alexandra, a photographer and the heart behind my boudoir studio FYEO Portraits. I started my business in 2002, inspired by photographers like Helmut Newton, David LaChapelle and Patrick Demarchelier 🎨✨

When I first started my boudoir photography business in 2002 , I placed ads in women’s magazines and the business took off! From that tiny seed of an idea grew a brand I’m truly proud of 🌱💗 FOR YOUR EYES ONLY PORTRAITS. A company that gives women artistic portraits that boost confidence and honour their individuality.

I built my business as a young mum, juggling shoots while facing personal challenges. My daughter was born with a cleft lip and palate, and her journey has been emotional and inspiring. We are now approaching what we hope will be her final operation on Monday 💕🙏

Along the way, I struggled with my own confidence. As a highly sensitive person, I learned to channel my anxiety into creativity and to see myself through a lens of love. That shift changed everything for me, and it shapes how I support the women who step into my studio 🌟

When clients trust me with their portraits, I guide them into uplifting, powerful poses that help them feel strong. I show them how lighting reveals their natural beauty and help them understand that they are the hero of their own story 💪✨ Beauty is dynamic. It lives in movement, light, energy and style.

🧐 Do you ever have days where you just can’t focus on stuff, no matter how hard you try? Days where your mind drifts, your energy drops, and you feel like you’re pushing through mud?

And have you ever wondered why that happens, or why it feels so much harder at certain times of the month?

What if your body is simply speaking… and you’re just not hearing it yet?

As women, our energy isn’t meant to stay the same day after day. We rise, we fall, we shift and when we ignore those natural rhythms, our focus is often the first thing to slip. Have you noticed that?
That when you push through tiredness or overwhelm, it’s not just your energy that drops, but your clarity, your creativity, your resilience?

And then we judge ourselves for it.

I’ve seen this in my own life. As a mum, I used to rush to finish work by 2:30 just to beat the traffic and collect the kids from school.
