Lately I’ve noticed a powerful trend in my studio — and I think it’s time we talked about it.
More and more of my incredible clients — mostly women over 40 — are turning to weight-loss drugs like Mounjaro. Many call it life-changing. For some, it’s the reset they’ve longed for: a chance to step into healthier choices and finally book the shoot they’ve dreamed of.
And honestly, I’m thrilled for them.
But alongside this transformation, I want to gently share a concern.
Some women are arriving to their shoot having barely eaten. A few have admitted to running on almost nothing. Mounjaro suppresses appetite so effectively, many are struggling to fuel their bodies properly — let alone build strength.
Here’s the truth: real body confidence isn’t about shrinking ourselves.
It’s not about skipping meals or chasing a number on the scale. True transformation begins when we choose to nourish and honour ourselves — body, mind and soul.
Fixing a poor body image isn’t one-dimensional. It starts with a single, powerful decision: to love the skin we’re in, and to treat our body like a home we want to live in.
Weight loss may be part of the journey — but it’s never the whole story.
With 20+ years behind the lens now, I’ve seen how deeply emotional this journey is. It’s not just about the mirror — it’s about the stories we carry, the voices in our heads.
In my book The Queen of Boudoir, I share how photography became a life-changing experience — for me and for the thousands of women I’ve photographed. The real magic happens when we finally see ourselves not just as beautiful… but as worthy. Powerful. Whole.
You deserve to feel seen and celebrated — with or without a prescription.
Have you tried Mounjaro? I’d love to hear how it’s impacted your body image.
