Ladies, drop a ❤️ if you’ve learned to love the skin you’re in.
We go through so much in the relationship we have with our body, don’t we?
The pressure, the comparison, the noise — and yet here we are, showing up every day in the skin that carries us, feeds us, loves for us, and lets us love in return.
When I was younger I used to think body confidence was about changing how I looked. But since starting my boudoir photography back in 2002 I now know — it’s about changing how I see myself. My mindset.
How many of us have stood in front of a mirror and picked our body apart because we don’t like the reflection- a reflection that could easily be affected by bad lighting or an awkward angle.
Here’s what I’ve learned (and what I now teach and photograph every single day):
✨ Our bodies are not separate parts to be judged individually — we are WHOLE.
✨ We are not here to look “perfect” in every photo — we are here to live, breathe, love, feel. Our feminine energy shows up in unique and s3xy ways.
✨ A bad angle does not define our beauty — our light does. Our power does.
✨ Understanding your body is part of reclaiming it. You learn your angles, yes. But you also learn your worth.
Through photography — and through my own personal work — I’ve stopped seeing my body as something to fix and started seeing it as something to thank.
It’s the vehicle that’s carried me through grief, passion, motherhood, success, heartbreak, laughter, rebirth, and everything in between.
It’s the vessel through which we give love.
Receive love.
And it’s beautiful.
To every woman learning how you show up — not just in your body, but in your presence — I see you.
To those learning to forgive a harsh mirror or unflattering photo, I feel you. I can help you SEE your body.
And to those who’ve come to honour the body they live in — not because it’s changed, but because they have — I applaud you.
💌 Drop a ❤️ in the comments if you’re proud of the journey you’ve been on with your body.
You deserve to celebrate you — every version, every curve, every lesson learned.
With love,
Alexandra
